Virtual Tours

The Athens Campus
- The Athens campus of Ohio University provides a beautiful setting for its students, faculty, and staff to study, work, and live. But the campus holds more than just classrooms, residence halls, and offices. In many ways, it holds the university's history as well.
Using the Virtual Tours
- Following each of the nine tours linked above, you will have the opportunity to explore that part of the Athens campus, visiting the various buildings and campus locations in sequence. Many of the tours include "stops" at pages with photos that are of campus scenes, but that are not of specific buildings. As each tour concludes, you will be brought back to this page, where you can select another tour or use the links at the bottom of the page.

From each page of the tours, you can follow any of the links at the top and bottom:
- an enlarged map of that area of the campus showing the nearby buildings (together with a list of those buildings and links directly to the page about each of them),
- an expanded-scale map of that area of the campus showing nearby parking lots,
- a map of the whole Athens campus,
- the building index (which includes alphabetical and numerical listings, also linked from the bottom of this page), or
- back here, to the tour home page.
The Academic and Administrative Buildings
- The College Green is the oldest part of the campus. Its buildings and historic sites - and even the brick walkways and trees - all are part of an educational tradition that covers more than two centuries and includes many fascinating people and events. Most of the other academic and administrative buildings are located on the North and West greens, on the Ridges, or in the Service Center.
The Residence Halls
- Most university student residence halls are located on the East, South, and West greens. The Housing office maintains a variety of detailed information on-line.
Fraternities and Sororities
- Among the more than 360 student organizations at Ohio University are more than 30 fraternities and sororities. Their buildings are private property, and are not included in the virtual tours of the Athens campus. You can learn more about the fraternities and sororities online through the "Greek Life" office in the Campus Life department of the division of Student Affairs.
