Douglas K. Adie, adie@ohio.edu, Ph.D. Economics, The University of Chicago, 1968

FIELDS OF SPECIALIZATION: Money and Banking, Labor Economics, Industrial Organization, History of Thought.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES: Early research was on the teenage unemployment effects of minimum wages which was recognized by extensive coverage in a review article in the Journal of Economic Literature. The next topic I dealt with was postal economics and policy focusing on privatization. I published three books and numerous articles on this topic and am still active in this field. Economic history and the history of thought are continuing interests. Articles in 18th century English monetary history have been published in the Economic History Review and republished in Roderick Floud's, Essays in Quantitative Economic History and Milton Friedman's Festschrift. More recently I am studying the secularization of economic thought in 19th and early 20th century America.
