News from the Ohio University Chapter

The book, Bugis Navigation (by Ohio University Sigma Xi Chapter member Gene Ammarell), has just been published by the Yale University Southeast Asia Monograph Series. It is an ethnographic study of the indigenous navigational knowledge and practices of a population of Bugis seafarers from an island village located in the Flores Sea, midway between South Sulawesi and Sumbawa in Indonesia.
